January 2021 Newsletter

We are excited to welcome our new partners, HPV Cancer Free TN, to the ImmunizeTN family.

As we begin 2021, ImmunizeTN is happy to announce our merger with HPVCFTN. By collaborating, we will be able to amplify our vaccine-promotion efforts and expand our abilities to gather subject matter experts.

As a workgroup of ImmunizeTN, HPVCFTN will have a dedicated seat on the Steering Team (future Board of Directors). The workgroup will retain their name and logo as they help us focus on improving HPV vaccination rates, increasing HPV-related cancer awareness, and promoting early detection best practices.

Member Meeting – February 10, 2021 7pm Central

All ImmunizeTN Members will receive an invitation link in a separate email.

Guest Speaker: “Building Vaccine Confidence” with Andrea W. Stubbs, MPA – Administrative Director of the HPV Cancer Prevention Program at St. Jude

Andrea W. Stubbs, MPA has a wide range of community-based experience that has fueled her passion to focus on disease prevention and management within disparate communities. Realizing the importance of increasing community awareness and knowledge of devastating disease states, Andrea has focused on finding and learning new facts, ideas, and translational concepts that support healthy community behavior change. For the last 14 years, she oversaw the HIV Community Research Program for the St. Jude Comprehensive HIV Prevention and Care Program. This allowed her to gain solid training overseeing and implementing therapeutic and behavioral interventions in hard to reach communities in the Memphis Metropolitan Statistical Area. Most recently Andrea became the Administrative Director for St. Jude’s newly created HPV Cancer Prevention Program where she will work to improve HPV vaccination uptake in the local community and on a national scale.

Our new website is now under construction, and we could use your help with content. There will be opportunities over the next several months to help curate, organize, write, or edit content on topics such as vaccine-preventable diseases (COVID-19, HPV, Flu, Measles, etc.), increasing vaccine confidence, vaccination equity, immunization policy, and more. These opportunities will range from a quick 10-minute edit to an ongoing commitment to curating a specific section. We know you are all incredibly busy and want to make contributing as easy as possible. If you are interested in helping, please email Emily Delikat at immunizetn@gmail.com for more information.
