Please join us on January 26, 2021 for a virtual seminar on preventing HPV cancers hosted by the new HPV Cancer Prevention Program at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
In support of National Cervical Cancer Awareness Month in January 2021, the HPV Cancer Prevention Program at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will host its first virtual seminar, Capitalizing on Opportunities to Prevent HPV Cancers, on January 26, 2021 from 12:00 p.m.-1:15 p.m. EST/11:00 a.m.-12:15 p.m. CST.
The goal of the virtual seminar is to share the latest information on how to increase uptake of HPV vaccination to prevent HPV cancers. The presenters will be: Dr. Mona Saraiya, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Division of Cancer Prevention and Control, Epidemiology and Applied Research Branch; Dr. Melissa Gilkey, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Gillings School of Global Public Health, Department of Health Behavior and Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center; and Dr. Rebecca Perkins, Boston University School of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The presenters will discuss the growing body of evidence showing the effectiveness of HPV vaccination in preventing cancer, trends in vaccination coverage, emerging data on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on vaccination, options for getting back on track with coverage, and the importance of consistent and collaborative messaging in support of HPV vaccination as cancer prevention.
